Believe it or not, little newborn babies don’t come out looking spotless. They are perfect in their own way, but may have bumps, bruises, acne, scratches, and blotchy skin. Part of my job as a photographer is to take those little perfect imperfections and make them disappear. I am not gonna lie…it is not always easy and can be time consuming, but the amazing photo you get in the end is definitely worth it! I am still perfecting the process and there are some photographers out there (who I will spotlight in the future) that are amazing at it. We all have our “bag of tricks” for this process and mine includes a combination of Lightroom and Photoshop. I am still learning a lot about my process, which is what I love about my job! Always room for improvement
. I look back at my first newborn photos and, although sometimes I would like to cringe, I try to remind myself that we all have to start somewhere and that those photos are beautiful in their own way, and represent where I was at during that time in my career. Not to mention not matter how you photograph a baby…they are ADORABLE! Below is an example of a SOOC (straight out of the camera) and an After of a newborn. Enjoy!
** Yes this is the same baby as in this post
